Hey there! Thanks for stopping by.
We’re the Portland State University chapter of ALPFA – Association of Latino Professionals for America. With us, all majors are embraced. Also, even if you’re not Latino/Latina, you’re more than welcome to join us. In essence, if you’re interested in professional development or the like, we’re interested in you.
Our mission: ALPFA creates opportunities, adds value, builds relationships for its members, the community and its business partners while expanding Latino leadership in the global workforce.
For a brief history on us, check out ALPFA’s national page.
By now, you may be asking Oh, cool. But what do you guys do?
Good question. What DO we do? We like to:
– Host events that help establish and grow your network, maximize your strengths, and become the great leader you’re meant to be in your field. For example, we host a big event each term. We’ve done leadership night with Nordstrom and Sephora, networking BBQs, and more. Plus, we always have a little something-something up our sleeve.
– Help you. We’re here to make your college experience more fulfilling, and that means aiding you in your hunt for scholarships, grants, and even work experience. With us, you can rest easy, knowing we’ve got your back. Need an internship? No problem. ALPFA is national, so our ties reach from coast to coast. Our many partnerships and alliances will ensure that you find the right fit. Some of our partners include Microsoft, Intel, Starbucks, EY, KPMG, Boeing, and more.
– Have fun! Okay, sure, that’s reaaal cliche, guys. But we mean that. The relationships within the board and the members aren’t limited to just meetings: We like grabbing lunch or coffee together. We like learning from each other. We like pushing one another to reach new heights. Part of the college experience is building relationships, especially ones that will last a lifetime. It’s our goal that you find that here with us.
Let’s get to know one another. Any questions? Feel free to shoot us an email at email@example.com or tweet us at @PSU_ALPFA. If you’re interested in learning more, visit (and like) our Facebook page. Thanks!
